If you are familiar with the success and popularity of the dating site, you might also be aware of the many foreign bride services which seem to be just as popular. One of the most cliché, yet successful agencies among these groups is the Russian Bride service. The theory goes, Russian women are dying to get out of their home country, and western men are just dying to get a woman who won’t say no.

In reality, the Russian woman offers much more to her would-be suitor than some would give her credit for. Besides the few bad apples looking for a “green card”, the majority are loyal, intelligent, and are just looking for a good man who resembles the ideologies of the western cultures. What makes these guys so special? Let me tell you.

The Attraction

Currently in Russia, women have a big problem. Times are tough, the economy is down, and the men continue to resist the ideology of a modern woman. According to various surveys, many Russian women complain that the men they have to choose from in their own country are immature, brag about unimportant accomplishments, drink too much, die early, drop out of school, and don’t give women the same equal treatment as men in western cultures. And herein lies both the hook and the bait.

The western male has his own stereotypical aspirations for wanting a Russian bride. In particular, it is believed by many that she dreams of nothing more than the Leave it to Beaver lifestyle, which may or may not include a white picket fence, flowered apron, and a Shitzu named Vladimir.

The Russian woman has risen to the stature to being one of the top 10 sexiest women around the globe, according to many magazines, which makes them all the more desirable among foreign men. Russian women outnumber the Russian male by four to one, and the women are far less materialistic than those found in the western nations. As a journalist once wrote in a popular men’s magazine, “Even if you have a face like a bacon tray, there is hope for you in Moscow (Russia).”

It would appear that the odds are in any mans favor who is looking for a sensitive, intelligent, blond haired and blue eyed Russian Bachelorette, but he is not the only one holding a straight flush in this particular game of chance. There are several reasons Russian women tend to gravitate towards western men and their traditions.

Alcoholism, Death, Sex and the Russian Woman

Some Russian men are hopelessly caught up in a stream of macho/spoiled upbringing, relishing in their accomplishments of drinking each other under the table and burping the ABC’s. This is one reason that men are recommended to be on their best behavior when drinking with a Russian woman. She will likely have more respect if he can control himself at the bar, considering the problem of alcoholism in Russia.

There is also a shortage of Russian men in general, leaving the pick of the liter rather sparse. Czech statistics suggest women have an average lifespan of 82, compared to the men who only stretch to 74. But even more surprising, is the statistic that puts the good majority of Moscow men in the grave by the age of 59. With this in mind, it is not surprising that by the time many Russian women reach 40, they have to resort to dating married men just to stay in the game.

Are Russian women truly desperate for western men? No, there are just a lot more single ones to choose from. Which brings us to one of the more interesting topics about dating a Russian woman, sex. According to a Cosmopolitan magazine survey, Russian women are the most likely to have sex on a daily basis. This desire appears to start from the age of 30, holding steady through 60. Other researchers contend that not only are they doing it more, they are also enjoying it. Russian sex clinics suggest that only 16 percent of Russian women have orgasm related dysfunction (“nyet orgazm”), as compared to 41 percent of English women.

The older gentlemen in search of a young Russian bride should be aware that she may be in need of “regular servicing” more than he may be used to, and to be prepared for it (Viagra). But don’t get the wrong idea that Russian men are particularly gifted between the sheets. According to research, while 67% of Russian men report being “very satisfied” with their relationships, only 56% of women can say the same.

Education, Equality and the Russian Woman

Perhaps the greatest draw of the western man is his education and modern thinking. Russian women hold many prestigious jobs in their home country, but they’re not always respected for it by their men. Research shows that the Russian man is by in large much less educated than his female cohorts, leaving him feeling rather insecure when it comes to swapping work-related stories at the end of the day.

Russian women are still fighting to gain greater equality in society, which is another reason they admire the western male who seems much more willing to share in the duties of washing, cooking, and taking care of the kids. Reports indicate Russian men are often spoiled, having grown up with women catering to their every whim. Most notable guilty parties being his mother, teacher, and female relatives. Western men are cut from their apron strings early on, learning to take care of themselves, resulting in a much more satisfying partnership/marriage.

 Is there any doubt what makes the western man a shimmering koi among a sea of otherwise colorless, boring trout. But he is not alone in his search for the perfect Russian woman, which means he will also have to work to keep his catch.

Keeping Your Catch

While the Russian women enjoys her independence, she is also very traditional. It is recommended to court a Russian woman using classic etiquette, including opening the door for her, putting on her coat, pulling out her chair, and even peeling her bananas for her (seriously). She will also much prefer being asked on a date, as opposed to “hooking up”. While they do want equal say in a relationship, Russian woman prefer their men to take charge and make decisions on where they’re going for a date.

Russian women are not quite as liberated as American women, but this does not mean they can be taken advantage of. Treat her right, and she will treat you right!

Went to a Russian party, well it was a Russian picnic this weekend. As usual, lot’s of people lot’s of wine, lot’s of food and lot’s of dancing. Took some video’s on my iphone. We decided to post a couple here for your entertainment:

Yesterday we went up to Denver and attended the European Festival. Was a bit typical with vendors and ethnic food. Was a bit small though. Not enough food or vendors. However the entertainment was outstanding. Their was a lot of Russian kids performing traditional dances and singing Russian songs. All in all, we had a great time. I believe at least 50% of the people there were Russian or with a Russian.
