The New Year

New Year’s Eve is upon us. Here in Colorado and throughout the world, people are gearing up for their celebrations. We are digging out for the second time in two weeks. Just a couple days before Christmas, Colorado was hit with a nasty snow storm and again this week we were hit with another. It’s beginning to feel a lot like Russia around here. Roads are closed, stores are closed and fresh produce shipments have been delayed. So it is difficult to find important things like potatoes, milk and bread if you do make it out. And not to mention it will be difficult to get to the liquor store!

Typically for New Years, we go to a party with the local Russian community. This has always been fun. This year, we have decided to stay home due to the poor weather and just relax. We have Russian Champagne and might venture out to have dinner somewhere if the weather permits. We were planning to go over to the local Russian grocery store and pick up some delicious Russian style cakes, but the weather has put a stop to that. Looks like they are closed anyway due to the weather.
