Long Time, No See!

I figured it’s been way too long since I last posted an article, almost 6 weeks. Been busy with work and family, so I have had little time to write. I guess this will have no specific subject, just about things in general.

Another couple that we are good friends with are moving to Japan at the end of November. The husband, Andy, accepted a job there so they are getting everything ready to go. His wife, Lena has gotten her US citizenship this past year, so she will go as a US citizen. They seem very excited to go, but we will really miss them. We wish them the best of luck!

What happens in Russia when your car breaks down? My car blew a head gasket last week and I started thinking about this. I don’t remember ever seeing any repair shops in Russia, not in Ekaterinburg anyway. But I would have to assume that they do indeed exist because there are a lot of cars on the road. I recall seeing several car dealers though. But this leads me to wonder what it was like in Soviet times? Those who did own a car, did the government fix it? How does that work in communism or socialism? Something new to investigate.
